OPSA's History
QRC Okoyong was the first girls secondary school in Cameroon, established in 1956 by the Holy Rosary Sisters from Ireland. It was led under the spiritual direction of their founder, Bishop Joseph Shanahan.
OPSA UK was established in 1998 as an alumni organisation to represent the interests of ex-OPSANs in the UK. OPSANs are a global association now, passionate and keen to give back to the school what we learnt there when we were students.
OPSA UK has 4 designated regions, each headed by a regional coordinator:
- Greater London Region
- Midlands Region
- South Region
- North Region
Meetings take place quarterly and are rotated between the regions.
Leadership
OPSA UK is run by an executive team comprised of nine key positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Vice Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Social Events Chair, Social Events Vice Chair, and Chief Whip.
